POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinates all audiovisual requirement assignments for the College.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Serves as coordinator of AV services for all College internal and external events including set up, tear down, staging, and storage of technical equipment.
    • Work with Events Coordinator to work through event job tickets.
    • Includes streaming platforms.
    • Develop a tracking system for location of equipment in use (checkout system)
  • Liaison with third party vendors for additional AV, lighting, and other technical needs.
  • Coordinate with Sports Information Director on technical needs for sporting events. SID will handle sporting events but may need this position for standardization and back up.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule all student workers. Student workers then become backup for all events including sporting events.
  • Maintain AV equipment and maintain parts inventory as needed. Provides on-campus preventive maintenance and arranges off-campus repair of audiovisual equipment.
  • Develop backup equipment needs and keep electronic list of equipment and locations.
  • Coordinate with Information Technology on AV needs for classrooms. This will be supported by IT but may need this position for standardization.
  • Understand all regulatory requirements and safety practices.
  • Prepare and manage annual budget including recommended changes to equipment.
  • Stay up to date on the AV industry on new advances in technology.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education Required: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associates' degree in a related field and four years of experience with audiovisual and cable television technology.

Experience Required: Thorough knowledge of audiovisual equipment and programs. Basic knowledge of video-communication technology. Knowledge of modern management/leadership practices.

Other Requirements: Proven ability to successfully plan, direct and coordinate a media services program. Ability and willingness to respond to media service problems during and after normal working hours. Ability to work with a variety of personnel including faculty, administrators, and technical support staff. Must practice participative management style. Strong oral and written communication abilities. Solid analytical and technical skills. Able to use all related hardware and software. Skilled in the use of a personal computer.
